From July 1-9, 2017, the Eagle Church of the Nazarene from Eagle, Idaho worked and witnessed alongside the Los Angeles Church of the Nazarene in San Jose, Costa Rica. The 24-member team included five families with half of the team comprised of children and teens.
The team worked on the new church building for the Los Angeles Church in the construction of block walls and concrete floors. The team also assisted the local church with their 4-day VBS, ending with two events at a local basketball court providing sports activities for children. From these events, three new families came to the church for the first time for the Sunday service.
The team advanced so quickly in the construction work that in the end they completed far more than anyone thought possible. David Webb, the interim Work and Witness Coordinator commented, “God always sends the perfect team at the perfect time, and He did it once again with the Eagle Church team.”
We praise God for how He is working in the congregation of Los Angeles who continually find new ways to reach their neighborhood for Christ. The Los Angeles congregation will be working to complete the building so that the much-anticipated dedication of the new sanctuary can be scheduled soon.
