The women’s ministry, “Blessed are you who have believed”, has been a blessing for more than 20 women who meet for Bible study.
This ministry was born in the Southwestern Latin American district in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, after Olivia de la Paz, a student in the Hispanic Pastoral Theology Bachelor of Arts program, took the “Theology of Women’s Ministry” course offered by the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas in 2021.
“These women have testified to the importance of Bible study, as well as how God has used this ministry for their spiritual edification, and how it has been helpful to their personal growth.” said de la Paz.
Olivia said that the idea of starting this women’s ministry came from her new and deeper understanding of God’s purpose as creator of man and woman in His likeness, and from studying the theology of women’s ministry. That desire to have Bible study with other women was both for those who know about Jesus and those who do not, and especially, she said, for those women who have lost their sense of identity because of the male-centric society in which they live and who have been “prevented” from serving God because they are women.
“More than 20 women are being blessed and ministered to by the word of God. Thank God for the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas that provides Theological Education and tools that prepare us to be useful in the edification of the Kingdom of God and to take the message of Christ everywhere!” Paz remarked.
