From November 4th to the 6th 2016, an average of 300 women set aside some time to learn more about the Lord in the Dominican Republic in the women’s national congress, entitled “Mujer, Tu Eres Valiente” (“Woman, you are brave”) which was open to any woman who wanted to attend. The event was held at the Dominican Nazarene Seminary Campus and was organized by Mrs. Elvia Rosa de Saénz, wife of the regional director, Dr. Carlos Sáenz, along with the wives of the country’s five districts superintendents: Ramona de Cabrera, North District; Maritza Yuden, East District; Rosy de Polanco, Northeast District; Altagracia Nova, Central District and Aura Pérez, South District, in addition with the collaboration of the Sister Paquita Bido de Balbuena, Central Field NCM Coordinator.
The preparations for this event began a year ago, in addition to planning meetings, the organizing team included times of fasting and prayer. The purpose of the event was to emphasize that with Christ, women can better face all aspects of their lifes; and that there is nothing that prevents women from transmitting the love of God.
Sister Rosa de Sáenz and Doña Irene de Garita preached the Word of God. They had the support of Sister Irma de Cordova, from Mexico, and Sister Any de Diaz, who motivated the ladies to always be generous. The singer Víctor Reguera, ministered to the women through his music.
Regional Director Dr. Luis Carlos Sáenz and Dr. Miguel Garita, who worked with the pastors of the Central District, were also present.
“I praise God because it was a time of many blessings for all of us who participated,” said Sister Rosa de Sáenz.
