On Monday, March 16, a Work and Witness team arrived from West Carrollton Nazarene Church in Ohio for a week-long stay. This team has partnered for several years with the Nazarene church and compassion project in Villa Jaragua, located close to the city of Neyba in the southwestern part of the DR. The team spent the week preparing to put the roof on the second floor of the project, and also painting and decorating the downstairs classrooms. The Villa Jaragua church boasts many youth that are very involved and help with the work, and it was a great blessing to see the West Carrollton team and the local youth work together throughout the week.
The team was also able to be involved in activities other than construction. On Wednesday, March 18, the team was able to help with a children’s outreach program in the community led by youth from the Villa Jaragua church. They were able to participate by sharing testimonies in services both at the church in Villa Jaragua as well as its daughter church in Dos Rios. On Saturday, March 21, the team traveled back to Santo Domingo, and on Sunday attended the church at the Nazarene Seminary.
We thank God for West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene in their dedication to support Villa Jaragua as they work to transform their community for God’s glory!
