From January 17th to 20th 2015, a Maximum Mission was held in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico East District, in order to present the message of salvation in Jesus Christ and begin the missionary work on the island, which had no previous presence of the Church of the Nazarene.
Around 50 young adults participated with a group of Nazarenes brothers from Indiana, USA who supported the activities.
Haircuts, doctor visits, clothes and groceries donations, house-to-house prayer, crafts, guitar workshops, sports, physiotherapy and screening of the Jesus Film, evangelism and compassion activities were part of the event.
Entire families were reached by Jesus’ message. One of those families, who lives in front of the park where the Maximum Mission was conducted, gave their lives to the Lord.
Brother Edi Montejo (Compassionate Ministry Coordinator for Mexico) said the following: “At night we showed the Jesus film, Christian videos and sang praises. We notice that a family did not come to sit on the chairs we prepared for our guests. Instead, they took out some chairs from their house and watched the film from there. When we presented the message of salvation, they accepted Jesus into their hearts … ”
Brother Joaquín Ocaña and the leadership team ministered to the new believers, inviting them to continue to grow in faith and knowledge of the Bible. The discipleship meetings will be held at this home.
Brother. Edi added: “In these times, it is necessary to retake the message of Jesus Christ to all the world. God is looking for workers who want to serve children, youth and adults, all involved in the Great Commission and Great Commandment. Pray for new believers in Cozumel and Pastor Xochilt Sanchez, who will be leading the new mission of the Church of the Nazarene in the Mexico East District. ”
Glory to God!
