On Tuesday, December 17, there were 700 children from the community of San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic who were the special guests of the Church of the Nazarene (House of Blessing/Casa de Bendición), to celebrate Christmas.
Each year, the congregation conducts this celebration with the purpose of “Showing the love of Christ in a tangible way to the children of the community,” said the pastor of the church, Rev. Benny Sánchez.
A team made up of church members prepared and shared with the children a dinner and a gift package containing candies, apples and grapes. In addition, they enjoyed singing and watching special presentations with clowns and other characters. The children received a Christmas voucher to buy toys and clothes at local stores and had a special time where they heard the Word of God.
“We were excited to see the smile on each child’s face when they received their gifts served with love from the congregation.” Pastor Benny Sánchez said.
