On October 27 and 28, the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas held a theological conference entitled Called: To Connect, To Mold and To Transform. One hundred and fifty-five participants attended the two-day event. There were participants from many countries including Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain.
Since the event was held during the month of the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation, the event focused on how the Church can continue to renew and be applicable to the world we find ourselves in today.
Some of the presenters for this special event included Dr. Jorge Julca, Dr. Harold Segura, Rev. M. Jose Chacon and Dr. Marco A. Velasco. In addition, the two District Superintendents from Costa Rica, Rev. Johnny Calvo and Rev. Sirlene Bustos each shared a devotional.
Some of the topics for the event, which included round table discussions included these:
- Significant Communication with a New Society
- Being and Making Fruitful Disciples
- Leading the Change in Our Communities
After each session, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the presenters to clarify and apply the information to today’s ministry contexts. The event ended in the evening with the SENDAS graduation ceremony, where eighteen students graduated from their respective programs.
