Between March 23rd and 26th 2014, the Nazarene Global Theological Conference III was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. “Critical Issues in Ecclesiology.”

On this occasion the Americas Nazarene Seminary was represented by a total of thirty-one people, including students and alumni of the institution, from the 70′s to the present (being equivalent to over 10% of the attendees).SENDAS congratulates those who were chosen from the USA/Canada, South and Central America regions for this crucial event for the denomination’s life.

In addition, five alumni served in some function directly from the platform. Dr. Jorge Julca was one of four scholars at the conference who summarized the essays (his area was “Context”). MSCs Marco Velasco and Carlos Abejer were panelists for their writing about “Critical Issues in Ecclesiology. Influences on Nazarene organizational structures Where are we?” and “Ecclesiology in Wesleyan Theology: Analytical Perspectives and practical implications of Wesleyanism for the Latin-American continent “, respectively. Dr. Monica Mastronardi also served as a panelist responding on her essay “How to be a family of God for the world in the XXI Century “(standing out as the only Latin American women participating in the panel), and finally, Dr . Rubén Fernández moderated the discussion on “History”.

In SENDAS, we are grateful to God for the contribution it has allowed us to make during these 44 years, preparing key leaders for the Church in the continent. Just to mention a few examples, now, the two Latin American Regional Directors (Dr. Christian L. Sarmiento and Dr. Carlos Sáenz), President of Global NYI (MSc David González) and the Director of Multicultural Ministries for Region USA / Canada (Dr. Roberto Hodgson) have passed through the halls of SENDAS.
