Thursday, July 12, the second phase of Encuentro 2018 ended in the churches in Guatemala. Friday evening, July 13, the event will officially close with an evangelistic service. On Saturday the groups will begin to return to their homes. Rev. Milton Gay, the coordinator for Encuentro in Guatemala and the Regional NYI coordinator, shared some good news about the second week of service in the country.
“During the second week 10 churches from the Central District were blessed. More than 400 people received Jesus, including adults, children and youth. The Nazagol project was a blessing because many youth came to know Christ through playing soccer and the message of the gospel. They shook up the communities by serving and preaching, and by visiting the sick and the public schools.
Every day they had celebrations, parties and community life. Many were called to pastoral ministry and missions. Friday is a large campaign in the Seminary where we expect more than 500 people from the participating churches from the week.”
We thank God because he is manifesting his glory in Guatemala in this time. We pray for the seed of the gospel that has been planted and that the local church will be able to care for it.
