The second phase of Encuentro 2018 in Costa Rica closed Thursday, July 12. Tomorrow the groups will have recreation time during the day and in they evening they will close the event with a celebration service. Saturday the groups will begin to return to their homes. Gaby Bustos, the coordinator of Encuentro in Costa Rica, shared about the experiences they have had during the second week.
“Today is the last work day of the second week. Our Encuentro group added 340 people from the United States and divided between 11 churches. We worked on various work projects at the churches and in the community. Every night the groups arrive around 9:00 p.m, and we had a variety of scheduled activities. They included united services, bonfires, concerts, talent nights, karaoke, street activities, visits to nursing homes, centers for disabled people, and innumerable activities for children, youth and adults of the community.
We can define the week as a time of parties and work. We enjoyed ourselves and also prepared for the celebration and close of Encuentro for our districts and participants tomorrow.”
We pray for the seed of the gospel that has been planted in the children, youth and adults of the country and for the safe return of groups to their homes.
