On April 25th 2015, the SDMI in the Costa Rica Central District, in an effort to train leaders and teachers, held a workshop titled ” Sunday School: an urgent challenge”. The workshop focused on three areas: (1) Importance and Organization of Sunday School, (2) Discipleship and (3) How to develop an effective lesson. Knowledge was expanded, the local ministry was strengthened and the district was unified.
Out of 21 churches, 18 participated in the event, with a total of 98 people, including local SDMI presidents, teachers, SDMI Board members and pastors. Rev. Monte Cyr, SDMI Regional Coordinator; Dr. Miguel Garita, Regional Family Care Ministry; Dr. Monica Mastronardi, Vice Chancellor of SENDAS; MSc. Andres Fernandez; Dhariana Balbuena, National NCM Coordinator and Aleida Rojas, Costa Rica Central District SDMI Superintendent, were the speakers. The District Superintendent, Rev. Mario Vargas C. also supported the event.
The material that was shared allowed the participants to better serve their churches. The district SDMI Board will be working in the coming months directly with local churches and in the preparation of the 2016 workshop. We thank God for helping us in conducting this workshop and because He allows us to serve. To Him be the glory!
