The Panama Central District met for its 52nd assembly on Jan. 31 at the Wyndham Albrook Mall in Panama City, Panama.
General Superintendent Dr. David Graves and Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz presided. “Through them the Lord gave a beautiful word that ministered to everyone present,” said Joel Bermudez from Nazarene Communications in Panama. Then they began the business of the assembly in which they shared the advances in the district from the previous year.
District Superintendent Rev. Carlos de la Cruz and his wife, Amantina, presented gifts to Dr. Graves, his wife and Dr. Saenz. Then they recognized the district leaders for their excellent service to the Lord as well as the 4 missional zone planters who recently planted a new church. They also celebrated the church that met its World Evangelism Fund goal. The assembly closed with a time of prayer for Rev. de la Cruz and his wife.
Following the assembly was the ordination service for Pastors Eusebio Bermudez, Magalys Lewis, Pamela Irina, and Melinda Harrison. Their spouses accompanied them as they were ordained as elders in the Church of the Nazarene.
“Our district welcomes the new elders. We ask for prayer for the district, that the Lord would continue moving in the lives and hearts of each leader and member, and that more and more people from this country would come to know him.”
