The Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) team from the North Central field travelled to Uspantán, Quiché, Guatemala to deliver 160 packages of basic food items to pastoral and church families, as well as to the community who have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
This trip was held from 26th to 28th August in coordination with the advisory committee of the north west district and acting district superintendent, Roger Lemus.
After preparing and distributing the packages, the team facilitated a time of training for the NCM leaders in the area. They discussed ministry plans, shared tools for ensuring a well-functioning Disaster Response committee and provided training related to the “Small Businesses” project.
Additionally, they visited the Church of the Nazarene in the community of Nebaj, Quiché which is under the care of pastor José Torres and his family. There, 91 food packages were distributed.
“We thank God for the Church of the Nazarene in this region, for its leaders and for God’s provision to them,” said Damaris Kellog, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator for the North Central field of the Mesoamerica Region.
