From October 24th – 26th, more than 200 young people came together to be a part of the “Exclusive Design” conference in Mexico’s South Pacific District. The conference was organized by the first Church of the Nazarene in Tonalá, Chiapas however, youth from 13 other churches also attended, including their leadership teams, worship ministries and guests.
The aim of the event was for the young people to recognize God as the one who has set His eyes on them, who sees in them what no one else can see and who wants to use them for extraordinary things. It also aimed to motivate the youth to develop their gifts for service unto God.
Some of the activities included football tournaments, ministry fairs, games, as well as workshops on the topics of youth leadership, by León Pérez; singing, by Ana Luna; and worship, by the band Visión 28:19.
The invited conference speakers were pastor Elías Betanzos, superintendent of the North West Oaxaca District, who shared on leadership, and Josué Barrera, pastor of the Etla Church of the Nazarene, who spoke on the topic of exclusive design, based on Jeremiah 1:5.
The youth worshipped with the band IDN Worship and singer Ana Luna and, on the final day, they enjoyed a concert featuring the Visión 28:19 band from Oaxaca.
“I am convinced that the youth leaders who attended our conference have returned home with a different vision; the youth have also been recharged with new zeal to continue going after Jesus and serving Him. We had a work team of persons between the ages of 13 and 40 who worked from 7am to 11pm at night, making sure that everything went as best as possible.”
