A special marriage conference in the North Central Field of the Church of the Nazarene’s Mesoamerica Region reached approximately 150 couples consisting of pastors and leaders from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
The conferences were hosted by Miguel and Irene Garita, coordinators of the Family Care Ministry for the Mesoamerica Region and Field Strategy Coordinator, Carlos Cordero, along with his wife Nancy Cordero. From September 6th to 10th, this team toured the three countries of the North Central Field.
The couples learned about the challenges faced by the family in today’s broken society, the importance of one’s spouse in ministry life and God’s desire for each individual and marriage to be healthy.
“We give God thanks because it was a very blessed tour. Several pastors and their spouses came to the altar praying for God’s blessing on their lives and on those of their families,” said Irene Garita.
According to Carlos Cordero, the purpose of the tour was to bless the ministerial families from each country in the Field and to start motivating pastors to attend the upcoming national pastors and spouses’ retreats.
“This was an activity we were looking forward to and thank God it came to our District,” commented Rev. Etan Bardales of Honduras.
Eddyn García from Guatemala said, “Thanks for supporting our pastors and leaders.”
Superintendents Juan Ramón Campos and Mario Pineda were also grateful for the conferences which, they said, were of great benefit to them.
Carlos Cordero explained, “We will continue moving forward with these events which are all on the journey towards our national pastors and spouses’ retreats.”
