The Volcano of Fire in Guatemala had two powerful eruptions on June 3, which affected thousands of people. The most recent report from the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED), said that more than 12,000 people have been evacuated, 3,319 are housed in shelters and 75 have died.
As a response to the tragedy, Mexico Area Nazarene Compassionate Ministries responded immediately calling the Mexican people to pray and collect offerings. They also summoned medical professionals in order to take a medical team to Guatemala.
Below is a message from the NCM Coordinators in Mexico, Cutberto Tenorio and Edi Montejo, about the Mexican medical team.
We must continue to pray for Guatemala and the thousands of people affected by this tragedy. Pray for the leaders responsible for the logistics of the disaster response.
