The Mexico Area of the Mesoamerica Region held its Nazarene Missions International Congress June 1-2 at the Centro de Alabanza Y Proclamacion (CAP) in Oaxaca City. More than 300 people attended the event, including NMI leaders, district superintendents and pastors.
Those who attended were challenged to serve united in the Mesoamerica Region vision to Make Christ-like Disciples Among the Nations. The faith goal by the year 2030 is to have 1 million members, 700,000 worship attenders, 700,000 people attending Sunday School, and $1.5 million in World Evangelism Fund offerings. In addition, NMI is focused on urban missions and ministry with youth and children.
Three missionaries who served with Genesis—Sugey Barron, Daniela Gonzales and Eunice Zaragoza – shared their testimonies of their ministry in their assigned sites.
Regional NMI Coordinator Ana Maria Crocker, who also led conferences during the event, sent a special thanks to the other people who spoke during the event: Global NMI Director Lola Brickey; Mexico Field Strategy Coordinator Dr. Jorge Cordoba; Regional NYI Coordinator Dr. Milton Gay; Oaxaca Northwest District Superintendent Rev. Elias Betanzos; Etla Church of the Nazarene Pastor Josue Barrera; North Area NMI Coordinator Alma H. de Rodriguez; North Mexico Area NMI Coordinator Rev. Maria L. Manuel. The last two ladies were the coordinators of the event.
