The Regional Advisory Council (RAC) met for its annual meeting in Panama City on Oct. 5-6 and heard reports from ministry coordinators and the regional director. They shared both the growth in different areas of ministry in the region as well as the challenges they face.
Prior to the RAC meetings, from Oct. 2-4, there were missionary trainings, regional coordinator meetings and meetings with the Field Strategy Coordinators.
“The RAC is the way the local church, through ministry representatives and lay people, receive an account from the regional leadership. They also participate in the birth of strategies that impact the region. This year for the first time we had a participant from the Dutch Field,” shared Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz. The representative from the Dutch Field was Rigoni Hitzert.
“It is an important time when we report the challenges and successes of the previous year, while also looking forward to the vision that God has for us in the upcoming year. It is a time of fellowship and prayer, but (the RAC) also makes decisions that direct our ministries in future months and years,” wrote Scott Armstrong on the blog Transforma el Mundo.
The RAC also interviewed 6 missionary candidates to decide whether to recommend them to the General Board to be sent as global missionaries. The RAC unanimously recommended all of the candidates.
