In appreciation of the work that the Central Chicago District in the USA has given to the Costa Rica North District for more than six years, by sponsoring the growth and development of the infrastructure of this district, a W&W group was organized and sent from the Costa Rica North District to Chicago, ministering and serving from October 07th to 18th 2015, under the leadership of Superintendent, Rev. Johnny Calvo. The group was composed of members of the Poas, Barrio San Jose and Ciudad Quesada churches, representing 17 organized churches.
The group raised an amount equivalent to US $10,000; fundraised by working as a team. This is the first time a Latin American group has raised this amount to bless the United States, also raising their personal funds to travel.
They visited churches and shared the district’s vision, they also worked on painting, gardening, construction and finishing parts of churches, children’s ministry, among other activities.
“We are grateful for everything you have done in and for our churches, we did this by way of gratitude,” said Roy Mora, District and Poas Church Work and Witness Ministry Director.
Thanks to Bryan Wilson, who started this partnership, thanks to Bruce Wilson, his wife and Karla Lovett for their support during this time, thanks to every pastor and member of Chicago Central who has blessed us and thanks to the North District churches for understanding that it is time to bless others also!
