March 4th to 7th, 2014; 152 leaders of the 2 Cuban districts, attended an intensive Counselors Development Training, given by Miguel and Irene Garita, counselors and leaders of Family Care ministry in the Mesoamerica Region.
Due to the growth that the church is having in Cuba, there is a need for new tools. Many people with different needs and situations are coming to the churches. In seeking to meet those needs, the Garitas, along with the Regional Director, Dr. Carlos Sáenz and District Superintendent Leonel Lopez, directed the counselors training event. The leaders started by doing an analysis of the person to know the biblical points that apply to different situations of a person’s life.
They enjoyed times of praise, workshops, exercises and also times of inner healing. It is important to mention that the Counselor, Sister Irene Garita, said that it is imperative to bring the leaders to a time of healing so they can be ready to give freely. She also emphasized the thirst that she could see on the leaders acquiring the new knowledge.
Thanks to Lord for this generation of leaders ready to serve as counselors.
