It was in 1982 when a young Nicaraguan, living in the United States arrived at the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas – SENDAS – obeying God’s call to prepare to be a pastor. During those four years he studied diligently graduating with a degree of Licenciatura in Theology. Before leaving, he had joined Dr. Jerry D. Porter, seminary president at the time, and other students to establishing the Church of the Nazarene in San Pedro de Poas, Costa Rica.
Four decades later, his influence in the Hispanic church in North America and the Hispanic world globally has produced pastors who are serving in different parts of the world. The name of this distinguished student was Roberto Hodgson.
After leaving SENDAS, Roberto graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary and from the Graduate Theological Foundation where he earned a Doctor in Ministry degree.
Rev. Dr. Hodgson passed away on February 3rd and is now in the presence of the Lord. The entire Church of The Nazarene, Mesoamérica Regios is profoundly saddened and moved by his loss. We join with his loved ones during this hour of deep pain.
We give thanks to the Lord for the glorious hope we have in Christ, that one day we will meet again to worship the Lamb of God for all eternity!
