On January 28th and 29th 2014, the Cuba District Assembly was held at the Nazarene Theological Seminary, with historical events. Over 600 delegates attended the event, where the start of 8 new churches and an average of 500 new members were announced.
In addition they rejoiced to hear the General Superintendent, Dr. Gustavo Crocker, as he announced that the District of Cuba, which for 45 years was Phase 1 became directly a Phase 3 district. The Cuba District (currently the Cuba West District) now sponsors the creation of the Cuba East District, a phase 2 district with 72 organized churches and 21 Elders. Rev.
José Alberto Rojas Mayo was elected as the new Superintendent in the 4th electoral ballot. Rev. Leonel Lopez continues as District Superintendent of the West District of Cuba.
The two districts were separated into different rooms; Dr. Carlos Sáenz chaired the newly organized District Assembly. Dr. LeBron Fairbanks trained local boards and pastors in how to operate more efficiently.
