The Mesoamerica Region of the Church of the Nazarene, through the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, gave support with construction materials to the churches of the South Border District in Chiapas, Mexico, that were damaged after the 6.9 earthquake that recently rocked the South Mexico border with Guatemala.The quake left serious damage to the sanctuaries, Sunday school classrooms and parsonages walls.
During the supervision and delivery of materials were present Edi Montejo (Mexico South Field NCM Coordinator);Brother Roberto López Fajardo (South Border District Superintendent);SisterAlejandra Cozar (District NCM Coordinator);The materials given to the pastors and church leaders were: cement bags, bags of lime, bricks, sand, gravel, armex, rods, tubes, among other materials.

- “Morelos Rivera” Church of the Nazarenein the town of Motozintla
- ” Estacion Huehuetan”, “Arca de Salvacion”, “Ebenezer” Churches of the Nazarene in Huehuetan Township.
- “Mount Sinaí”, ” Estacion Tuzantan ” Churches of the Nazarenein the town of Tuzantan.
- “Carrillo Puerto” Church of the Nazarene in the town of Tapachula.
- Church of the Nazarene in the town ofCacahoatan.
Chiapas state ranks first at the national level in the development of earthquakes, which represents a large percentage of the seismic activity in Mexico.The earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale that hit Chiapas is similar in magnitude to 7.0 quake that devastated Haiti in 2010.
