On October 10, 2015, as an initiative of Costa Rica’s Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, a retreat for pastors’ children (PK’s) from the two districts was held in SENDAS.
Children, adolescents and youngsters between 7 and 30 years old attended. They worked in age groups and also had a time where the whole group was integrated.
There was a special time of group discussion where they shared their experiences, both difficult, as a well as blessings. The leaders encouraged them to move forward, giving advice and special messages.
There were also recreational times with activities, board games and a refreshing time in the pool.
The event coordinator, Dhariana Balbuena , noted that meals from McDonald were served and for 3 of the children it was the first time they tried this food. It was also their first experience of enjoying a pool, they were very happy, because it was an extraordinary adventure.
Field NCM Coordinator, Sister Paquita Bido Balbuena; Costa Rica North Field NCM Coordinator, Angie Carvajal and the district superintendent, Rev. Mario Vargas and his wife Sharon Víquez visited and supported this event.
Children and young people shared testimonies of how beautiful this experience was and were willing to continue participating in these unique experiences.
