On May 6, 2014, the first massive ongoing pastoral continuing education course was offered by videoconference from the SENDAS campus, 154 pastors and leaders in 5 countries of our region were connected from 15 videoconferencing centers for the first 5 sessions of the course entitled “The church impacting the community.” Pastor Miles McPherson presented this first session; he is a minister in “The Rock Church” located in San Diego California USA, church with more than 16,000 members.
Each of the following four sessions consisting of 2 hours, for a total of a 10 hours course. They will be taught by pastors and highly experienced regional leaders with successful ministries, which will share the strategies and principles that they have achieved. The presenters will be:
Ernesto Ferreira, Assistant Pastor in Central Campinas CON Brazil.
Marco Velazco, Assistant Pastor in Tuxtla Gutierrez CON Mexico.
Elijah Betanzos, Pastor of the largest Congregation in Mesoamerica Region “Center of Praise and Proclamation” CON, Oaxaca Mexico.
Jhonny Calvo: Northern District Superintendent Costa Rica and Pastor of the Church of Poás. CR
The continuing education program will run for 4 years, one course per quarter and is intended exclusively for the pastor’s continuing education program. The program began offering courses through web conference, (from personal computer and camera).
Dr. Ruben Fernandez and his team Dr. Jorge Baños, Academic Vice President; Rev. Franlyn Peña, SENDAS Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs and Grade; Mr. Esdras Jiménez, SNV coordinator; and Msc. Andrés Fernández, VET Coordinator, worked on the project to offer the first course by video conferencing, which has been successful and can reach beyond our regional borders.
