February 25-27, El Salvador held its district assemblies, beginning with the East District.
The El Salvador East District celebrated its 24th assembly. Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Leonel De Leon presided. After a devotional time, District Superintedent Rev. Victor Manuel Alfaro gave his report. He shared that the membership goal for this year is 200 new members. Currently 7 churches are working with the VID Y CAFE ministry. He also shared that 100 leaders are involved in the “Leaders Making Leaders, the Power of One” strategy. He included congratulations to Diana Gonzales who is working with the Genesis Project in the district.
The El Salvador Central District held its 25th annual assembly on Feb. 26 at the Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene. After a devotional time, the Field Strategy Coordinator shared the Word of God. District Superintendent Rev. Oscar Villanueva followed with his report. He emphasized that for this year they have projected organizing the Agua Caliente church in Chalatenango and that they 4 assistants in the zone are working on forming leaders following the philosophy of “Leaders Making Leaders in the Power of One.” Finally, he said that the goal for the year 2020 is to organize 72 churches. The FSC installed the newly elected leaders and closed the assembly in prayer.
The El Salvador West District celebrated its 24th assembly on Feb. 27 at the Santa Tecla Church of the Nazarene in San Salvador. After the sermon preached by Rev. De Leon, District Superintendent Alexander Castro Calderon gave his report. He especially stressed the organization of the Las Penas church and the 13 mission-type churches in the district. He awarded the lay ministers’ licenses to 35 new workers for the harvest who serve in the new missions.
