Guatemala Southeast District
The Guatemala Southeast District celebrated its 28th annual assembly in Jutiapa on Feb. 28. The assembly followed a devotional time. Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Leonel De Leon presided. District Superintendent Rev. Luis Marroquin reported that the current projection for the year 2020 is 16 new organized churches. Currently the district has 3 discipleship groups as a product of Visions 2020, “Leaders Making Leaders, The Power of One.” The time closed with a time of consecration for the leaders led by Rev. De Leon.
Guatemala Peten North District
The Guatemala Peten North District celebrated its 36th assembly on Mar. 2 in Santa Elena Peten. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves presided and also preached a holiness message. District Superintendent Rev. Moises Ordonez followed with his report in which he shared that the district organized 2 new churches, added 274 new members and opened a school for missional zone planters. The assembly delegates elected Rev. Francisco Quej for a two-year term as district superintendent. Dr. Graves, with translation by Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz, ordained 5 new elders as a part of the assembly.
Guatemala Peten Southwest District
The Peten Southwest District held its 5th annual assembly on Mar. 3 in the New Hope Church of the Nazarene. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves presided and also preached the Word of God. District Superintendent Rev. Samuel Coc reported that the district organized 2 new churches in the past year, added 10 new pastors, 12 new distance learning students and 6 centers for the School of Leadership.
