With Caribbean rhythm and dance, the Cuban NYI convention opened, with more than 350 delegates from the 2 newly organized districts. In the convention they received the book ” Flight Plan”, written by the NYI President and NYI Regional Coordinator, Rev. Milton Gay. The book is focused on developing youth leadership.
This was a great blessing to all the Cuban leadership as they are taking a big step in the formation of new districts (East and West) in their country.
Currently, NYI membership reaches 2,685 members, in more than 111 churches in the 2 districts.
It was a celebration and a joy to observe the thirst to learn and apply the principles of the book. We could only share with them 10 books, because of immigration reasons, but they will reproduce and share them in the local churches.
Please pray for the new leadership and the start of the Youth Ministry Degree beginning in 2015 at the Cuban Nazarene Seminary. Also pray for Pastor Loysbel Pérez, who was NYI president for many years and now he is taking a new assignment as academic vice president.
The new leaders are ready and prepared to serve the Lord. Pastor Jose Luis Pino is the West District President and Alberto Suarez is the East District President.
