On February 2nd, 2015, the Costa Rica North District held its annual assembly, led by General Superintendent Dr. Gustavo Crocker who was accompanied by his wife, Ms. Rachel Crocker. Dr. Carlos Saenz, Mesoamerica Regional Director, was present at the celebration as well.
Dr. Crocker shared about Isaiah, reminding pastors and leaders about the need to remember God’s providence and church growth as we develop believers through discipleship.He shared the need to grow in number, but also the importance of the church’s spiritual growth.
There are 17 churches in the North District, including two new churches organized in November 2014, Tres y Tres and Quebrada Grande.The district also has 9 missions-type churches.
The church with the largest growth was Ciudad Quesada.When Pastor José Narvais began in June 2013, the church had an attendance of 14 people, now it has a weekly assistance of 90 people and they are in the process of planting other missions in the city
The district grew by 7% this year.District Superintendent, Rev. Calvo, challenged the assembly to continue reaching people for Christ to increase growth in the coming year.Churches gave $ 10.799 for missions this year, which is an increase of $500 over last year.
Rev. Calvo also shared that his greatest joy during the assembly was to see the two new pastors and delegates from the two newly organized churches sharing in the assembly.
Each ordained pastor gave a small testimony sharing how God has blessed him or her this year.The assembly ended with a time of consecration and prayer as leaders.
