Caribbean Nazarene College (CNC) President Dr. Scoffield Eversley opened the 20th Annual Leadership Conference being held from January 6 – 9, 2014 at the college campus with the theme, “Protecting our Heritage. Preserving our Future.”
Dr. Eversley welcomed approximately 115 delegates from the islands of Barbados, Bahamas, Jamaica, Guyana, St. Vincent, Antigua, and Trinidad & Tobago, with the largest delegation (52) coming from Barbados.
General Superintendent Emeritus Stan Toler fulfilled a promise to the English Speaking Field of the Mesoamerica Region by returning to teach the Principles for Visionary Leadership from his book, “Lead to Succeed”.
College Chaplain Dr. Margaret Eversley invited delegates to give a Special Offering each night of the Conference to the people of St Vincent who were affected by severe flooding on Christmas Eve 2013 that resulted in infrastructural damage estimated at EC$ 175 million.
Other Conference speakers dealt with possible interventions / remedies to several issues with which the children of the Caribbean currently have to cope, including HIV / AIDS and Child Abuse.
