The Abundant Life Church of the Nazarene in the Puerto Rico East District hosted 48 participants in a Disaster Preparation and Recovery training on June 23.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) and Nazarene Missions International (NMI) joined to offer the training to the church and community with help from the ACUDE ministry (Communities of Faith United Emergency Alliance), which is a local resource that promotes action plans for immediate response and recovery after a disaster.
Jose Rodriguez, Puerto Rico East District NCM Coordinator, said, “For our district this is only the beginning of a great mission and responsibility to develop as a church an immediate response to any natural event that becomes a threat and can affect families in the communities.”
Members of the community, church members and church leaders received the training.
