On October 10th, 11th and 12th 2014, in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, a Cross Cultural Orientation (CCO) was held. This is the second time in the past two and a half years that this event is held. They had the participation of a great team of leaders, including Rev. Scott Armstrong (GM and Genesis), Ms.Ana Maria Crocker (NMI), Helen Herrera and Freivy Lopez (Genesis Missionaries), Abigail Soto (DR National NYI) and Kemuel Sosa (DR North District Mission Global Coordinator).
Thirty-one people from 4 of the 5 districts in the country attended the event to learn more about missions. They enjoyed a good time as a team, in group activities and devotional.
At the last service, after being challenged by the message that invited them to “go”, all came to the altar as a sign of willingness and commitment to further develop the mission of God in their churches and districts.
Elba Isabel Duson, from the East District, shared her experience after the event: “Since I left the CCO, I have new expectations and a different vision.I know that the Lord is confirming something great in my life and in the meantime I‘ll continue working in His work. ”
Also José Esteban J. Alcantara, from Central District said, “I’ll keep doing the work and getting ready.I need more information about the theology classes online. “We thank God for his desire to seek opportunities to continue his theological studies and preparation!
The East District Superintendent stated: “You can count on my support and prayer. We are praying for more young people to tell the Lord, “Here am I, send me”.
“Keep praying for this country and the field so that we can keep finding, training and sending missionaries and leaders!”
