Using the theme “Riches in Christ,” Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) from the two districts in Cuba held a camp for pastors’ children and leaders from the Church of the Nazarene in Cuba from July 26-28 at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Punta Brava, La Lisa, Cuba. Fifty people participated. Included in that number were 24 young adults, 3 children and 23 teenagers. Six of the participants lost their parents in the aviation accident on May 18, 2017.
The theme was based in the text from Matthew 6-21. “. . . Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Rev. Beatriz Reyes and Dr. Carmen Alvarez from Costa Rica taught the participants, and Rebeca Gomez shared in the closing service.
They also had times of prayer, recreation and leisure. The participants enjoyed a day at the hotel pool and a special dinner at the Conde Baraka Restaurant.
“We are grateful to the Holy Spirit for his presence, care and being with us; Everyone was touched and exhorted to hold to their salvation and make decisions with Him, and reminded that they are never alone,” said Mabel Fernandez, Cuba West District NCM Coordinator.
