32 Nazarene volunteers from the Mexico North District came together for a 7-day project called “Love without Limits” in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico. The aim of the project was to share the love, faith and compassion of Jesus and saw some 100 families benefiting from the event
The activities were held in the month of August in the regions of El Fraccionamiento los Álamos I and La Colonia Villa Juárez.
The volunteer team took part in a range of activities which included: cleaning public spaces, prayer walks, cleaning and painting of one of the churches and a football field, 40 free haircuts for children and adults and the delivery of food and cleaning items to three families.
They also hosted a Vacation Bible School for 40 children, a football tournament which attracted more than 30 teens, a hope caravan which included prayer and evangelism and a health caravan where 50 persons received tetanus shots, HIV and syphilis tests, glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, as well as free medication.
Additionally, there was a special time for a group of 15 seniors who received facial treatments, polishing of nails and haircuts and participated in games, songs, refreshments and reflections on the Word of God.
The team ended this day with a session of worship and thanksgiving. “It was a beautiful time of ministry and of learning the Word, led by Pastor Guadalupe Marroquín,” said Dawilda Rodríguez. “We enjoyed it because there were five people who received the Lord into their hearts!”
She also said that they were sure this project left an impact of love, faith and hope. “We finished the event with dozens of new contacts,” said Dawilda. “We are praying for them and they are already in the followup process. Some people have already responded and we have started visiting and discipling them.”
