Bahías de Huatulco, Oaxaca – From August 23 to 25, 2024, the Biniguenda Hotel served as the venue for a special marriage retreat for pastors and leaders from the Oaxaca District. The event brought together 60 couples to strengthen their bonds and share experiences.

Rev. Dr. Miguel and Rev. Irene Garita, who serve in the Family Care ministry on the Mesoamerica Region, led inspiring workshops on topics such as “Caring for Your Partner,” “Spouse, You Are Important to Me,” “Navigating Transitions,” and “The Threats Facing Our Families.” These sessions encouraged participants to reflect on their relationships and how to nurture them better.

One of the most emotional moments of the retreat was the renewal of marriage vows, where many couples reaffirmed their commitment. Additionally, five couples who had never had the opportunity to marry in the church received special blessings from Pastor Miguel Garita, marking a significant moment in their lives. All those who renewed their vows also received a new ring, symbolizing a renewed covenant.

“This was a truly blessed time. The purpose of helping district pastors achieve healthy marriages, which is essential for successful ministry, was fulfilled,” enthusiastically shared Nicolás Ríos, superintendent of the Oaxaca District.

The retreat was not only an opportunity for learning but also for connecting and supporting one another. With renewed hearts and a stronger commitment, the couples returned to their communities ready to bring love and hope to their congregations.
