“I know who I am” was the theme for this year’s Guyana: Demerara / Essequibo District held Children’s Camp held April 24-27 at Camp Wesleyan. Ninety-five campers and workers attended from across the district.
The event was divided into a teaching session, discussion session and evangelistic session. During the teaching session, the children learned that God created them fearfully and wonderfully in His own image.
Those teaching sessions were further developed in discussion sessions, which allowed the children to use crafts and their talents to reaffirm the lesson. The evangelistic sessions focused on the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Around 60 children made the decision to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
The children were also encouraged to share their faith using the Share Your Faith model and the evangebands.
Camp organizers also took the opportunity to focus on the social concerns of the children. Officers from the Ministry of Social Protection – Child Protection Agency conducted an interactive session on child abuse.
“We continue to give God all the glory for all our partners who contributed to making Camp 2019 a success,” said Rev. Neilford Chase,
