In the first of more missions projects, a team of seven youth from the Guyana: Berbice District Nazarene Youth International (NYI) volunteered their skills and labor on April 15 to assist the No. 41 Church of the Berbice District in plastering the newly constructed walls of their sanctuary.
District NYI President Anthony Chand led the team made up of members of the District NYI council and youths of various local NYIs.
The No. 41 Church started renovation of their old wooden floors in 2018, which led to the entire floor level of the sanctuary being redone in concrete. Rev. Caroline Williamson, the pastor of the church, was happy to relate that the project was brought to this point without any funds used for labor, since skilled church members donated the labor.
NYI plans to offer more chances for youth to participate in ministry through mission outreaches to local churches.
“The Council will continue to serve other churches and engage as many youths possible in every area of ministry,” said Shellinie Chand, district administrative assistant.
