Guatemala East Border (Franja Oriental) District Assembly
The Guatemala East Border District celebrated its 27th assembly Mar. 3 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Fray Barlome. After hearing the Word of God from General Superintendent Dr. David Graves, District Superintendent Samuel Coc Xi shared his report. The district organized 4 new churches and remained active in the four extension learning (ETED) centers. They also have 3 centers for missional zone planters.
Guatemala Ixcan District Assembly
The Ixcan District held its 15th assembly Mar. 5 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Ixcan Playa Grande, Quiche. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves preached the Word of God and challenged the assembly to remain in Christ and bear much fruit. In District Superintedent Rev. Hector Caz Och’s report, he shared that 370 leaders participated in the “Leaders Making Leaders, the Power of One” training as a part of vision 20/20. He also reported 113 new members and 7 new missions. The assembly closed with an ordination service for two new elders. One of them was Maria Josefina Maquin, who is the first woman ordained in the history of the Ixcan District.
Central Border District (Franja Central) Assembly
The Guatemala Central Border District held its assembly Mar. 6 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Chisec. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves challenged the assembly to share the light of Jesus to those who are not yet saved. District Superintendent Rev. Rogelio Alfredo Quej followed with his report. Three hundred thirty-two people joined as members this year and 90 pastors participated in a community evangelism training. The assembly closed with an ordination service for 4 new elders. The assembly elected Rev. Augusto Co Misti as district superintendent for a two-year term.
