For over a year God was guiding us in the preparation for the Regional Conference which was held October 7th, 8th and 9th 2015, in the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Guatemala City.
About 500 people, including speakers, participants, guests and the logistics team, came together for this event; representing 20 countries of the Mesoamerica Region. The theme was “LIVING THE PRESENT, TO BUILD THE FUTURE”.
The event began on the evening of October 7th, closing the 40 Days of Prayer for this event, which was led by the 5 Field Strategy Coordinator.
The guest speakers for the evenings were: Dr. Louie Bustle, former Church of the Nazarene Global Mission Director, who shared the theme “Heritage Purpose”; Dr. Nina Gunter, Church of the Nazarene former GS, shared the theme “Missionary Heritage” and GSJ, Dr. Gustavo Crocker, closed the event, ministering Communion and sharing the theme “A Present with Future.”
Dr. Verne Ward, Global Mission Director and Dr. Luis Carlos Saenz, Mesoamerica Regional Director, shared the Word of God during devotional times.
Plenaries were led by the FSCs, Ministry Coordinators, a district superintendent and NCM Field Coordinator, who shared topics about the essentials of the Church of the Nazarene, a global initiative that was launched at this event by the Regional Director.
On the 8th, we had the NMI centennial celebration, where we were blessed with the presence of the sister Lola Brickey, NMI Global Director, who gave thanks to God for this celebration and who also participated in the Flags Parade of each country that forms part of the Mesoamerica Region. Leaders and missionaries, who have faithfully served God and Distinguished Districts were recognized for their continued support to Global Evangelism.
Among us was Frank Moore, Global Editor for the denomination and brother Jonathan Petrus and his wife, first pastors of the church in Curacao, which was recently started by the Church of the Nazarene.
