The Church of the Nazarene Jamaica East and West Districts had its annual Pastors & Spouse Retreat from October 16-20, 2014 at Mission House, Burnt Savannah Westmoreland. The theme for the Retreat was ‘Walking Together’.
It was indeed a wonderful weekend as we were inspired by the presence of God, blessed by our resident presenters Dr.& Mrs. Miguel and Irene Garita. We were also privileged to have sharing with us Mrs. Wendy Lopez who acted as translator for the Garitas. During one of the sessions, our presenters encouraged us to watch out for the ‘enemies of marriage’, how to identify the origin of these enemies and the boldness to face the same.
Eleven couples were among the twenty-seven persons in attendance at the Retreat. The fellowship among the ministerial couples was tremendous as we bonded, shared, listened, ate, prayed, laughed and enjoyed this special time of refreshing and renewal in the presence of God.
Our Retreat also included a couples “Walking together Treasure Hunt”, a trip to the beach, a visit to a historic Light House, a banquet and moments of reflection and commitment.
It was indeed time well spent as we shared and received from God together!
