As of January 27, 2014, the construction began for a new church auditorium, for Nazarene congregation “La Venta” located in Juchitan de Zaragoza, Oaxaca Mexico. The old temple built in the 80s was no longer sufficient for the growing congregation. On Sundays, many people had to stay outside the temple, the children had no space for their activities. In a respond to these needs the project was born to build an auditorium, where in addition to members, many more people could come to hear the message of salvation.
The auditorium will be a semicircular building that will have the capacity to accommodate 541 people; 360 on the ground floor and 181 upstairs.
“In this process, we have seen God’s hand, because the resources have come from where we never imagined. God sent a couple from Villahermosa Church of the Nazarene, located in Tabasco, Mexico, and Brother Wilo and Sister Ada Elena Riley, engineer and architect respectively, who designed the project and donated it to our church. The resident engineer is Brother Joaquín Sierra Sánchez from Tonala, Chiapas, Mexico. ”
Each church member has made faith promises and offerings, they have made food sales, they’ve looked for donations and for two years they have cultivated sorghum, in borrowed fields from farmers in the community.
“One thing that has amazed us is the way God has answered our prayers, many people who do not profess the faith, have provided economic resources, such as materials and food for the workers. The church has surprised us in how they have responded to the needs that have arisen in this process.
We thank our Almighty God for all the support, He has shown Himself measurably to our church. We also thank our Pastor, Elder Gustavo Moguel Galdames, and his wife, Zoraida Hernández Sánchez, for their dedication and passion for the work of God and to our church for being an integral part of this project. Each one of the people who believed in this project and who have joined contributing to the realization, God bless you.”
We ask the region to support us in prayer so that somehow we may receive the resources to move forward.
